What causes problems Behaviour?
In the majority of cases, problem behaviour in a dog results
from a lack of understanding by the owner. There exists
a great deal of myth and misinformation about dog training
- this leads to handling errors which confuse the dog. For
this reason, an important aspect of our work is owner-education.
We take great care and time to teach you and your family
how to handle your dog both to prevent both the recurrence
of existing problems and the development of other unwanted
behaviour.
Where do we deal with the problem?
In most cases, it will be necessary to visit your home to
engage with the dog in its own environment. Sometimes it
is possible, or preferable, to bring the dog to us and occasionally
a personal consultation to discuss solutions will be sufficient.
How Do We Deal with Problem Behaviour?
Solutions for most problems can be found in a single consultation
lasting around two hours. We work with you and your dog
to make an accurate diagnosis of the cause of the undesirable
behaviour. We then design and set in place a specific modification
programme to change the behaviour.
